Learning how to use new software might be one of the things that can prevent an organization from moving forward implementing a new system. Sure, the system might have all the bells and whistles and be exactly what you need to solve your problems, but that doesn't mean anything if no one can use it.

When it comes to asset tracking, the last thing anyone wants is to spend more time on it than they already do. In order to simplify asset tracking, our Nox Asset tracking and visibility system makes use of Microsoft Office's Excel spreadsheets. Anyone familiar with that widely used application can learn how to use Nox to search for items and information in no time.

How to use Excel to track assets

1. Create a spreadsheet with a list of all items being tagged and tracked. If you already have a system in place for keeping track of items, it can easily be integrated into the Nox system. If not, simply follow along with the sample spreadsheet included with the system.
2. Tag your assets with RFID Labesl When you order our Nox system, it comes with its own set of sample RFID tags. Learn about how to choose the best RFID tag for the job on our support page.
3. Take inventory with the Nox Vault handheld Once all the items you want to keep track of are tagged, it's easy to collect information about which items are where. Nox Vault can read up to 100 tags per second. As soon as each tag is scanned, they show up on the handheld's built-in screen as "Expected Found," "Missing," "Not recognized" and "Not expected."
4. Transfer results to computer It's simple to then apply that information to the spreadsheet you've already created. The Nox Vault handheld can be synced with your computer and the results will show up in Excel in exactly the way you need them to. Once uploaded,it's easy to search through the results to find exactly what you're looking for.
